Good Read

Finished reading, Words in the Dust, by Trent Reedy, last night. It is the story of Zulaikha a young Afghani girl with a cleft palate and her family. The author was a soldier in Afghanistan from 2004-2005 and wrote the book when he got home. It’s based on some of the people he met there along with lots of research. I was touched by the story and would recommend it, though I’d advise young readers that it includes some harsh realities.
